California-based Medicare Plus Home Health Providers and its principal, Priscilla Villabroza, are targets of Medicaid fraud allegations for using untrained and unlicensed people to care for disabled children and adults and fraudulently billing California’s Medicaid program for nearly $5 million, reports the New York Times:
Although some of those arrested worked as nurses abroad, officials said, none trained in the United States. Many had no health care experience. Many of the 75 victims received incompetent and rough treatment, but none suffered life-threatening injuries, said Thomas P. O’Brien, the United States attorney.
