Yesterday, two coding specialists turned Government whistleblowers settled allegations with Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center Inc that Bayview submitted false claims based upon misrepresentations about Bayview’s case mix, including false secondary diagnosis of malnutrion and acute respiratory failure.

Pursuant to the settlement, Bayview will pay the United States nearly $3 million, of which more than $500,000 will go to reward the two whistleblowers.
