Christiana Care — one of the largest healthcare providers in the mid-Atlantic region serving all of Deleware and portions of Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey — allegedly paid kickbacks for in-hospital neurology services including reading and interpreting electroencephalograms. According to Delaware Online, Christiana Care was rewarding doctors who regularly referred patients to its hospitals. Christiana Care denies any wrongdoing, but will pay $3.3 million to end the lawsuit.
