B.I. Medical Supply LLC has admitted to billing Medicare for “arthritis kits” that were not medically necessary and at a higher price than the kits actually cost. The company’s patients were actually supplied with less expensive kits. Owner Bassey Monday Idiong, administrative assistant Linda Eteimo Ere Kendabie, and patient recruiter Modupe Babanumi all plead guilty to conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud. Idiong plead guilty to five counts of healthcare fraud as well. According to the DoJ, the defendants could face 10 years in prison and $250,000 fine, per count.
