Yesterday, Melvin Young pleaded guilty to recruiting and bribing patients to submit to unnesesary testing at Ritecare clinics in Detroit and Livonia, Michigan. Young’s role in the fraud was nearly identical to that of Emma King, reported earlier by FraudBlawg. According to DoJ, Young admitted to recruiting at least 269 patients and submitting $940,760 in false claims to Medicare. Hans Lobato, Ritecare’s bagman plead guilty last week to giving money to patient-recruiters, like Young, to bribe patients into forfeiting their Medicare information and submitting to unnecessary tests and nerve-conduction studies.
