More Bribery in Iraq: Retired Army Col Sentenced to 12 Months

Apparently you can buy $12 million worth of DoD contracts for about $9,000. Retired Army Colonel Levonda J. Selph took a vacation in Thailand and other perks worth under $10,000, says DoJ, in a criminal information to which Selph has pleaded guilty. U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton of the District of Columbia sentenced the former Army officer to a year in prison for the conspiracy and bribery and three years of supervised release, plus a fine of $5,000 and $9,000 in restitution. As far as the $12 million goes, the taxpayers apparently will have to foot the bill… as per the norm. FraudBlawg has repeatedly reported on the plague of bribery and fraud related to U.S. contractors in Iraq.
