More Plead Guilty to Medicare Fraud in Detroit

Dierdre Teagen, Robert Wynn, Ernest Neal, James Harris and Steve Sherman pleaded guilty to Medicare fraud and will be sentenced in January, says DoJ. Teagan pleaded guilty to destroying the patient records of X-Press Center when she learned that the Detroit-area injection and infusion clinic that was under investigation for Medicare fraud. Teagan also admitted that she falsified patient records to facilitate the fraud. The remaining conspirators, Robert Wynn, Ernest Neal, James Harris, and Steve Sherman all pleaded guilty to one count each of conspiracy to commit health care fraud, admitting to the scheme to bill the Government for phantom services, accepting cash kickbacks or false prescriptions for controlled substances in exchange for ther Medicare numbers, and signing false paperwork submitted to the Medicare program.
