Physican Assistant Convicted of $7.7M DME Scam

DoJ reports that a Los Angeles jury found physican assistant, Ronald Luis Bradshaw, guilty of health care fraud, aggravated identity theft, and conspiracy for prescribing medically unnecessary durable medical equipment (DME) to hundreds of Medicare beneficiaries.  Juana Aranda, a professional patient recruiter who previously pleaded guilty, testified that “she was paid cash for bringing Medicare beneficiaries to Glenmountain[Medical Group] and that she was paid more if the beneficiary was prescribed a motorized wheelchair.”
