Retired U.S. Army Major Sentenced on Bribery Charges Relating to Department of Defense

Christopher H. Murray, of Cataula, Ga., was sentenced to 57 months in prison for his participation in a bribery scheme relating to the Department of Defense (DOD). According to the DoJ, Murray solicited and received approximately $225,000 in bribes from DOD contractors in exchange for recommending the award of contracts for various goods and services. Additionally, Murray received another $20,000 in bribes on a return trip to Kuwait and made false statements when confronted with evidence of criminal activity. Following Murray’s prison term, he will serve 3 years of supervised release and pay $245,000 in restitution.
