From The Detroit News today:
“Dr. Gwendolyn Washington appeared confused and unprepared after being detained at the end of her arraignment today in U.S. District Court in Detroit. The Detroit resident, who has a medical practice in Southfield, looked around the courtroom before turning over her keys and personal items to lawyer Anthony Chambers.
Washington was charged with submitting claims to Medicare for procedures received by patients who were already dead. She also was accused of writing phony prescriptions for powerful pain medications, which were sold illegally on the street.”
