U.S. Sues Bollinger for False Claims Act Violations

In a Complaint filed by DoJ last week, the United States alleges that Louisiana-based shipbuilder Bollinger Shipyards build and sold eight “unseaworthy” vessels to the U.S. Coast Guard.  According to the lawsuit, the company made material false statements about hull strength of Patrol Boats that it converted from 110-Ft to 123 Ft.
